National Insurance Clearing House Alliance presents a Bravo video event, a business insurance zone dedicated to financial professionals who use insurance in their practice. On today's show, index annuities are discussed with industry index product expert Cheryl Moore. The host of the business insurance zone is Steve Savant. They are broadcasting to a nationwide audience of insurance professionals from Fountain Hills, Arizona, home of America's largest condo. Cheryl Moore, the industry expert on indexed annuities and index life, joins Steve Savant for the entire week. They discuss the possibility of making index products a security and starting a blog to gather support for this idea. They also mention the negotiations happening between FINRA and insurance regulatory bodies in Washington. Currently, index products are treated as non-registered products, giving agents access to sell them. They continue to talk about the differences between cap rates on indexed annuities and life insurance, with indexed annuities having lower cap rates. Cheryl explains that the insurance company earns profit through expenses and commissions from fixed annuities, while in index annuities, the difference between the amount invested in bonds and the amount invested in options provides the interest. Life insurance products also generate profit through premium loads and policy fees.
