Check the next to your residency status and filing status. 4. Enter your federal adjusted gross income on line 1. 5. Skip to schedule A on the third page and calculate your adjustments as directed. Transfer the results from line 47 to line 2 on the first page. 6. Follow the instructions and complete the calculations on lines 3 through 6. 7. Skip to schedule B on the fourth page and complete the calculations to determine your credits. Transfer the results from line 57 to line 7 on the first page. 8. Complete lines 8 through 12 as directed. 9. Skip the fourth page and complete schedules C and D to determine your total credits. Transfer the sum from line 69 to line 13 on the second page. 10. Complete lines 14 through 30 as directed to determine your final tax owed or any refund due to you. 11. Sign and date the form. If filing jointly, your spouse's signature must also be provided. Providing a contact phone number is optional. 12. If a paid preparer has completed the form, they should print their name and provide a contact phone number.
