In this video, we'll see how to work on the text area checkpoint. Now, what is a text area checkpoint? It is a specific area where we keep track of the text that appears. This becomes a text checkpoint. Why do we need to keep track? Maybe if we load the application for the first time, we will see that particular text. But if we load it again, the text may not be visible. Usually, in UFT, we only check the functionality of the application, like dropdowns, date fields, or buttons. We don't usually select or keep track of the text. However, there is a feature available in UFT where we can put a text area checkpoint to keep track of a specific area. Let's see how it works. For example, let's take the text "Hello John Smith" or the text "This class". We can use the same example with the flight sample application. If we start from scratch, we can close the application and create a new test named "Text Area Checkpoint". Then, we can start recording by clicking on the record button for the Windows application. We can use the flight sample application by clicking on the "+" symbol and selecting the appropriate path and folder. Once the sample application is open, we can enter the username as "John" and the password as "HP". Now, let's see if the text area checkpoint can capture the selected area. There are two methods to insert a text area checkpoint. One is through the design menu bar, where we can go to "Checkpoint" and select "Text Area Checkpoint". The second method is through the recording toolbar, where we can find the option for "Text Area Checkpoint". We can select either method.
